May 20th progress update! Nammi mechanic complete.
Hey again everyone! This week's progress update might be a bit of a "recap" in some regards, as I kinda explained the plan in the last post, but Nammi's mechanic is now completed! I will cover some specifics not previously mentioned, and how/when stages will change.
-----
The round will start in "Bass/Mid" mode, as it is the most straight forward. Every meter will increase by a small amount with every note in this mode. After a set amount of time, the song will automatically convert to "Chill/Light" mode.
Chill/Light Mode will be your main way of focusing on "Hype" meter by hitting combo notes that come your way. As mentioned before, many difficult modifiers will not be active during this time, so you can put more focus on hitting the combos. Upon missing, or completing 3 sets of combo notes, the phase will cycle back into "Bass" mode for general progression.
If at any point in the song(Chill, or Bass), you manage to fill the Hype bar, you will immediately be brought into "Hype Mode". As mentioned before this is where you will get the most progress toward "Crowd Satisfaction"(win condition). In this state, your normal progress bar (The one that normally ends rounds, and gives modifiers), will neither go up, or down. It will be completely static, essentially making you invincible for the time period. Once the Hype bar drains fully, you will be swapped back to "Chill".
As with the other "bosses", a higher Reputation multiplier equates to more "power" towards the win condition.
The tl;dr is simply that you will automatically cycle between Chill and Bass until you manage to proc Hype, in which you will be returned, repeat until you finish the "Crowd Satisfaction" bar.
-------
With that said, what I will be focusing on this upcoming week is some final touches, bug fixes, and perhaps a couple QoL changes. This shouldn't take long and is the final stage before play testing. I'm happy to have Nammi's scene finally all laid out, and I can start wrapping this build up.
Thanks everyone!
