September 6th Progress Report! Nova Boss fight.



Heyo everyone! This week was all about Catiya2's boss, Nova. Nova starts off fairly simple, but will enter a more of an "enraged" state for the latter half. This fight could be seen as an introduction to how Nova fights. All the attacks, and rotations are complete and ready to go.

There were a few other things covered.

There was some pretty significant optimization on Titas. Some people were experiencing dropped frames in segments. Thanks to some testing with Lunatic Overlord, we were able to narrow down the cause, and get it figured out.

Another thing is SpunkStock's Russian translation by Evo Darwin is wrapping up, and implemented. It should be released in the near future!

Finally... something pretty coincidental happened (in a very good way). In last week's post, there was actually a big issue with Aether's IK. It all worked in inspectors, but in-game it would break. I put it aside for a bit, so I didn't fall behind, and was going to return to it later... well after about 2 days later, AnyPortrait (animating software) came out with a large update making big improvements to their IK system.... after updating... boom.. everything worked. Actually perfect timing.

That basically sums up the week! Next week is going to be focusing on the transmission dialogue in Catiya2, and a couple dialogue sequences with Nova. This means I will be rigging and animating a conversation portrait for her.
